World Animal Health Organization: China will keep ASF under control

China, the world biggest pork producer and consumer, is able to keep under control the spread of African swine fever on its territory, Xinhua Net says referring to Dr Monique Eloit, Director-General of the World Organization for Animal Health, report.
As to her, after the first ASF cases were detected within China last year Aug, the Chinese cental and regional authorities applied enormous efforts to fight the disease on the country territory - the efforts deserving «a high mark».
«We see the Chinese authorities taking, one upon another, most important preventive steps, including restrictions on the pigs’ transportation and a ban on pigs’ feeding with the food waste; besides, the quality of preventive work is also improving. So, I am certain that China is able to control the situation,» she stressed.
