Ukraine boosts sugar exports tenfold

07.07.2017 12:14 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Within the 2016/2017 marketing year (MY, Sept-Jun), Ukraine exported 738,500 tons sugar, up almost 10 times against the same period of the previous marketing year, Ukrinform says referring to the Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers (Ukrtsukor) report. «In total, within the 2016/2017 marketing year (MY, Sept-Jun), Ukrainian producers exported 738,500 tons of sugar, which is almost 10 times more than during the same period of the previous marketing year - 71,300 tons,» the report reads. As to Head of the Analytical Department of the Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers Ruslana Butylo, the next shipments within the current marketing year will be insignificant. She stressed that within Jun 2017 the volume of sugar export from Ukraine already raised against the previous month. For the first summer month of this year, the volume of sugar shipments abroad from Ukraine amounted to 6,355 tons, while within this year May it was 48,400 tons.
