Pope urges stronger commitment to fighting hunger

As of yesterday, while making a visit to the WFP (World Food Program) headquarters in Rome, the
Pope Francis had pledged his full support to global efforts to end hunger, UN Radio says referring to the WFP (World Food Program) report.
As to the report, the Pontiff encouraged countries to boost their cooperation with the UN agency.
Reportedly, the Pope Francis spoke of the impact of conflict on food access, stating that «in some cases, hunger itself is used as a weapon of war.»
Besides, he also addressed the issue of food waste. The Pope also paid tribute to WFP staff who had died in service.
"We remember them best by continuing to fight for the great goal of «Zero Hunger,» he stated.
