14.06.2016 08:02 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The number of refugees worldwide who will need to be resettled in a third country will exceed 1.19 million next year, UN Radio says referring to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) yesterday report.
As to the report, Syrians are expected to account for 40% of those who will need to be resettled, followed by citizens from Sudan, Afghanistan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Reportedly, despite the boost of resettlement quotas from countries, «the gap in terms of needs remains great».
As to the report, UNHCR expects to submit 170,000 refugees for resettlement in 2017 (up against the current figure of 143,000).
