Trilateral meeting between Petro Poroshenko, Bronislaw Komorowski and Ban Ki-moon was held in Poland

As of yesterday, within his working visit to Poland, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, the parties noted the importance and symbolism of the meeting in Gdansk, where a lot of European leaders came to honor the memory of the deceased in the World War II.
Reportedly, the interlocutors discussed the situation in Donbas and noted the absence of full access for the verification of ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy armament.
As to the report, Poroshenko emphasized that UN should play greater role in the settlement of the situation in Donbas and, inter alia, send a peacekeeping mission there.
Reportedly, the Ukrainian Head of State also noted that humanitarian situation in the area of conflict was extremely difficult and the delivery of Ukrainian and international humanitarian aid was impossible.
As to the report, the UN Secretary-General underlined the importance of full implementation of the Minsk agreements by all the parties and noted an important role of Petro Poroshenko in the peaceful settlement of the situation. Ban Ki-moon reminded that 70 years had passed since the end of the World War II, which had killed almost 60 million people. Those dreadful events should be a lesson and exclude the emergence of new conflicts, as stated by Ban Ki-moon.
Reportedly, the UN Secretary-General also told that he had accepted the invitation and would visit Ukraine on May 8.
