Ukrainian Vice Premier and Japan ambassador discuss aeration station reconstruction project worth $1.1 bln

12.06.2014 14:07 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — The Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Vitaliy Yarema and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Sakata Toichi have discussed the project for the comprehensive reconstruction of treatment facilities at Bortnychi aeration station in Kyiv, for which the Japanese government has allocated 1.1 billion US dollars under favourable conditions for Ukraine, NRCU says referring to the Vitaliy Yarema press service. As to the Vice Premier, Ukraine is interested in cooperation with Japan in the field of attracting advanced Japanese energy saving technologies to the Ukrainian economy. «The use of Japanese experience in this field will allow Ukraine to get rid of energy dependence,» the official said. As to earlier report, within April this year Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Services of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman told that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine had approved project documents for the reconstruction of Bortnychi aeration station in Kyiv worth about 1 billion US dollars. Hroisman noted that the Japanese government had stated its readiness to give a loan to Ukraine for the station modernization at 0.1% interest for 40 years.
