President: Ukraine and EBRD will continue efficient cooperation

Ukraine and EBRD will continue their efficient cooperation. It was stated by the President of Ukraine at the meeting with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Suma Chakrabarti, President Viktor Yanukovych Press Office reports.
«Ukraine traditionally cooperates with EBRD at a high level,» the Head of State noted.
The President called relations between Ukraine and EBRD a partnership, adding that our country was doing its best to fulfill its obligations to that financial institution.
Viktor Yanukovych emphasized that Ukraine had initiated the program of reforms. «Certainly, reforms have a different speed; they are comprehensive and cover various spheres of life. Any modernization is always difficult. But we have been conducting reforms for 3 years already and are not going to stop,» the President noted.
He stressed that Ukrainian reforms would facilitate the strategic course towards European integration.
In his turn, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Suma Chakrabarti noted constructive cooperation between Ukraine and EBRD. «We have been cooperating for more than 20 years. We have implemented about 200 projects together and the total volume of investments is about 4.5 billion euros,» he said.
He emphasized that in 2012, EBRD had invested 950 million euros (1.2 billion USD) in Ukraine in the framework of 35 new projects.
«We continued this tradition last year despite worsening economic situation in Ukraine and abroad,» Suma Chakrabarti noted.
Viktor Yanukovych and Suma Chakrabarti discussed the plan of further cooperation between Ukraine and EBRD.
