The First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Vitaliy But predicts the growth of heating points in the country from 2075 to 3500 by the end of the week. He said this on December 19 during a briefing at the building of the Cabinet of Ministers, Government Portal reports.
«We have worked in advance. 10 days ago the Ministry of Emergency Situations began to open heating points. Today there are 2075 such points in all regions of Ukraine. By the end of the week, this figure will rise to 3.5 thousand. Practices of last year have shown that this number will fully provide timely assistance to the population due to the sharp decrease in temperature», said Vitaly But.
He added that strengthening of cold is expected to December 28. After that, in the Ukraine may be warming up to -1 … -6 ° C at night and 0 … +2 ° C during the day.
The First Deputy Minister also noted that it has not been registered any case of death or hypothermia during traffic jams. According to him, it is definitely achievement of the Ministry, which provides all necessary assistance to people.
However, Vitaly But pointed out that the Ministry of Emergency Situations is not responsible for clearing roads and for the protection of public health. This is the sphere of competence of the Ukravtodor, local authorities and the Ministry of Health. Units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations engaged solely in the event of an emergency, when you need urgent help, because of the risk to life and health. However, when the situation reaches the critical exponents, the Ministry of Emergency Situations is ready to provide heavy equipment for clearing roads.
