Andriy Klyuyev: Ukraine is capable to provide itself by qualitative foodstuff of own production

14.09.2011 12:26 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Ukraine takes a course for restoration of production own qualitative, pollution-free and safe for a human health of agricultural goods in that quantity which will allow providing to the full requirements of domestic and partially external markets. This was stated by the Vice Prime Minister — Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Andriy Klyuyev, commenting on the appropriate section of the State Program of development of internal production which the Government approved on September 12th. «Our efforts are directed to provision of food safety in Ukraine at the expense of development of own diversified agribusiness industry and increase of competitiveness of domestic agricultural goods. It is a question of increase in an export potential of industry,» Andriy Klyuyev declared. As he said, under certain conditions the agrarian sector can quickly develop — to it we are obliged by acceptable natural-environmental conditions, large, in comparison with other countries, fund of agricultural lands, fertile soils, agriculture experience. He also noted that the development of domestic agriculture involves the use of modern technology. As he said, domestic market for agricultural equipment today is about 10 billion UAH. According to Andriy Klyuyev, hopes are assigned to domestic agricultural machine engineers by whom already today are created more than 100 industrial samples of technique and the equipment for agrarian and industrial complex. «Also it is planned to create joint ventures with foreign manufacturers the most popular in Ukraine agricultural machinery, provision of preferential regimes of production while increasing the tax and customs burden on imports. Production and new jobs must be created exactly in Ukraine,» Andriy Klyuyev underlined. And, as he said, localization of production of world trade marks in Ukraine should constitute not less than 80%. «Working over the program of development of domestic production, we have set the task to raise nutritional value of foodstuff in the course of cultivation, storages and processing of agricultural raw and production of articles of food at the expense of enhancement of technological processes. The same way — to prohibit application of chemical nutritional additives — dyers, emulsifiers of stabilizers, enhancers’ flavor, flavoring additives and the preservatives, capable to cause an allergy and other diseases. It is necessary to limit application of hazardous agrochemical in plant growing and growth stimulants in animal husbandry,» Andriy Klyuyev noted. He added that citizens of Ukraine have the right to know that they buy and that consume. «For this purpose we provide creation of a network of inter-regional modern laboratories for confirmation of conformity of quality of articles of food and finding-out of matters of argument from their quality,» Andriy Klyuyev declared.
