Ministry of Agrarian Policy initiates 1.3 mn MT grains intervention fund forming

Ministry of Agrarian Policy has initiated 1.262 mn MT grains intervention fund creation. This initiative has been confirmed by Cabinet draft Decree «About Approving of Volumes of State Intervention Fund Forming within 2010–2011 Marketing Period,» reported Ministry of Agrarian Policy press-service.
As to report, draft Decree is targeted mainly at approving of State intervention fund forming volumes within 2010–2011 marketing period by State prices regulation objects (as stipulated by Cabinet Decree № 40 from Jan 20/10 «About Approving of List of State Prices Regulation Objects with Establishing of Periods of this Regulation within 2010–2011.»
As to press-service, draft Decree fixes State intervention fund forming volumes within 2010/11 MY not below 20% from volumes of domestic annual grains consumption by several State prices regulation objects in order to enable Agrarian Fund to make goods interventions on Ukrainian domestic agricultural products market and assure national food security necessary level.
In part., draft Decree fixes following volumes: wheat and mesline (wheat/rye mixture) — 1,084.000 MT, rye — 106,000 MT, barley — 44,000 MT, maize — 28,000 MT, milk powder — 6,000 MT, butter — 18,000 MT and granulated sugar (produced from sugar beet) — 368,000 MT.
