Lithuanian agricultural plants half crop at risk due to severe drought

As of last week, Lithuania declared an emergency state due to severe drought. Agrarians are afraid their agricultural plants can face 50% yield reduction, Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers says referring to the DW.com. report.
As to the report, there is almost no water left within many Lithuanian rivers what threatens to ecosystems, flora and fauna, as well as vessel shipping. It is to be admitted, this year Jun has become the hottest month within the entire meteorological observations’ time. Thus, as of this year Jun 12, the thermometer columns rose to a record 35.7 degrees. Within the west of Lithuania, as well as within neighboring Latvia, rescuers are struggling with fires.
In meanwhile, thanks to the emergency state, Lithuania can provide financial support to the country agrarians without fear of violating the EU rules.
