Ukrainian organic sugar beets’ sown area up 100 ha

05.06.2019 18:07 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Recently, within Kyiv, Gnidavskiy Sugar Plant has made a presentation of its sugar produced up to the ‘Organic Sugar’ output process, Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers says referring to Gnidavskiy Sugar Plant Board Deputy Chief Oleksandr Nikishin report. As to the report, the organic sugar is eagerly purchased by world leading countries. "As of now, within Ukraine, such sugar is produced only by Gnidavskiy Sugar Plant; this sugar export price is not EUR350 per ton, but EUR1,350 per ton. It is clear that we have produced it on a tolling basis, since, before the sugar is produced, the sugar beets of the correspond kind is to be grown up, " Nikishin admits. As to Nikishin, the Plant organic sugar presentation was successful, with the export markets for this sugar being unlimited. Last year, the Plant had son the organic sugar beets at 250 ha, while this year it will enlarge the sown areas up to 350 ha. All the grown sugar beets will be processed by Gnidavskiy Sugar Plant. As to Nikishin, the organic sugar output process will be controlled by the International Organization ‘Organic Standard’ representatives who will ensure that the sugar corresponds all the necessary norms.
