«Within last 5 marketing years, the EU sugar export rates were fluctuating within 1.43.6 million tons. It is to be admitted, 2017/18 MY was a record high (thanks to EU domestic sugar output quotas’ having had been cancelled as of autumn 2017) - 3.55 million tons. However, within the next years, the EU sugar export won’t exceed 2 million tons,» she emphasized.
As to her, presently the EU sugar export is directed mainly to East Mediterranean, North Africa and Middle East countries.
As to Sidak, the EU domestic sugar beets’ sown area will get shortened within 2019 by 5.5% due to the EU agrarians switching unto other crops as they are constantly getting more expensive (esp. wheat).
As to her, the EU 2019/20 MY sugar output is expected to be almost same as within 2018/19 MY (even despite expectations of more favorable weather).
