AB InBev Efes loses about 30% of its reusable bottles per year within Ukraine

03.12.2018 21:31 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — AB InBev Efes, a big brewer, presently loses about 30% of its reusable beer bottles on the Ukrainian domestic market each year due to the lack of waste sorting, Interfax-Ukraine says referring to AB InBev Efes CEO Denis Khrenov report. «Upon whole, the percentage of collection of the reusable bottles within Ukraine is very low; there are even no official statistics. As for our company, I can say that AB InBev Efes loses about 30% of its reusable bottles annually; ordinarily, our company receives over 300 million of the reusable bottles (glass reusable bottles) annually. We are not satisfied with this bottles’ return level. As to our data, presently within Ukraine the glass bottles are usually lost within the garbage containers situated within the inhabited settlements and then are shipped out unassorted to the landfill,» he told. As to him, presently within some European countries collection of the reusable bottles reaches 98%. It is to be admitted, end Mar 2018, the world largest brewing concern Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) and Anadolu Efes, the largest Turkish brewer, had completed a merger of their businesses within Russia and Ukraine with equal shares. Thus, presently AB InBev Efes is one of the leaders of the Ukrainian brewing market, occupying 30.5% of the Ukrainian domestic beer market.
