05.10.2018 22:28 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The Indian phytosanitary authorities decided to open their country market for Ukrainian apples, Interfax-Ukraine says referring to the Ukrsadprom (Ukrainian Association of Industrial Horticulture and Berry Growing) report.
As to the report, the Ukrainian this year crop apples may already be exported to India, if only the demanded phytosanitary conditions are met. It is to be admitted, the Indian side determined special conditions of the Ukrainian apples’ export , in particular, the apples are to be held at a 0 ° temperature within 13 days (what is to be registered within the apples’ phytosanitary certificate).
«The opening of the Indian market for Ukrainian apples is the number one event not only for the Ukrainian gardeners, but also for Ukraine upon whole. India is able to completely replace the Russian market which was the main one for the Ukrainian apples until 2014. Besides, the Indian market will also make us improve the technology of the apples’ growing and storage what was not required for the Russian market, since the time of transportation to India is about a month,» Ukrsadprom Head Dmytro Kroshka says.
As to Kroshka, export shipments to India will help developing the Ukrainian fruits’ export sea logistics and promote boosting of the Ukraine/India goods’ turnover (taken into account the significant boost of the exported apples’ volume).
