Martyniuk: It is necessary to restore Ukrainian breeding seeds usage balance

As of this week, while speaking within the International Field Days, Ukrainian First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Maxym Martyniuk has said an important task now is to popularize the seeds of Ukrainian breeding and export them to the foreign markets, Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.
It is to be admitted, the International Field Days are taking place this year Jun 21–22 at the Exhibition and Innovation Center of Ukrainian National Academy of Agrarian Sciences (within Doslidnytske, Vasylkiv District, Kyiv Region).
As to the report, the event has been participated by President of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences Yaroslav Gadzalo, Ukrainian people’s deputies, representatives of central executive authorities, research institutes, clergy, public and mass media.
«Today, Ukrainian domestic seeds’ breeding as for many seeds’ varieties can compete with foreign seeds’ breeding, while Ukrainian new seeds breeds are possible to be sown at large sown areas. Thus, we must make the achievements of Ukrainian agrarian science commercially attractive, and start enlarging the usage of the Ukrainian seeds’ varieties,» Martyniuk has said.
As to him, Ukraine now has a strong potential for seeds’ output/export boost. Within the last few years, the Ukrainian seeds’ breeding industry has been intensively developing, new breeding centers have been established, modern seeds’ plants have been built, and investments inflow have been growing.
It is to be admitted, within the International Day of the Field, the Ukrainian scientists have presented their newest seeds breeding achievements: so, the event participants could see the new varieties of winter and spring grains, medicinal plants, potatoes and rape.
