IMC agroholding harvests almost 610,000 tons maize

IMC agroholding has finished harvesting its maize sown within 2017. The company has harvested almost 610,000 tons maize from over 67,000 ha, Interfax-Ukraine says referring to IMC report.
As to the report, the maize average yield is 9.1 tonnes per ha (same as within 2016).
«Though 2017 was extremely difficult for the Ukrainian agrarians due to the cold spring, arid summer and autumn heavy rains, the average yield of Ukrainian maize having declined by 18% against 2016, and the harvesting terms of the grain having had significantly extended, IMC but repeated its own maize average yield record - that is, 9.1 ton per ha,» the IMC Chief Operating Officer Oleksandr Verzhykhovskiy admits.
It is to be admitted, IMC focuses on cultivation of grains, oilseeds and potatoes. It is one of the largest milk producers in Ukraine. It owns a storage capacity of 554,000 tons grains and oilseeds. Its land bank totals 136,600 ha within Poltava, Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
