Law on language quotas on radio and TV published in Holos Ukrainy

As of today, the parliamentary newspaper Holos Ukrainy has published the Ukrainian law on amending certain Ukrianian laws on the language of audiovisual (electronic) media, which obliges the national television channels to broadcast at least 75% of content in the Ukrainian language, Ukrinform reports referring to the newspaper website.
As to the report, the law comes into effect four months following the date of its publication.
It is to be reminded, as of this year May 23, the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada had passed the law on amending certain Ukrainian laws on the language of audiovisual (electronic) media.
As to the law, the weekly share of TV programs and films in the state language must be at least 75% within each time span between 07:00 and 18:00 and between 18:00 and 22:00 for national and regional television and radio broadcasting organizations and at least 60% for local broadcasting companies.
It is to be admitted, the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed the law as of this year Jun 6.
