EBRD could invest up to EUR200 mln into Ukrainian agriculture within 2017

As to Sevki Acuner, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Country Director within Ukraine, the EBRD is going to
invest EUR150200 million into the Ukrainian agriculture within 2017, Interfax says referring to the Ukrainian Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry report.
«In 2017, we hope to reach at least EUR 150200 million. We expect the resolution of economic activity and as a result the increase in companies’ need in working capital and investment,» the Ministry report says citing EBRD Country Director in Ukraine Sevki Acuner.
As to Acuner, the EBRD intends to support diversification of agribusiness in Ukraine and reaching the new level of development.
Along with crediting, other aspects of the EBRD support is participation within a dialog on the regulation of the agricultural sector, provision of technical assistance and a platform for exchange of opinions on the functioning of meat industry and the dairy sector.
As to the report, the EBRD also backs the creation and strengthening of agricultural cooperatives and self-government institutions in various segments of the sector.
As to Acuner, the Bank has been strengthening financial support of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) within the past eight or nine months. The EBRD is trying to help to boost the management efficiency and introduce new technologies into agribusiness.
As to the report, Acuner hopes that the Bank investment into the implementation of Ukrainian projects within 2017 expands to
EUR1 milliard.
