Poroshenko met with winners of international academic competitions

As of yesterday, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko congratulated young Ukrainians who won international academic competitions within 2016, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, Ukraine was represented by 30 pupils from all the regions of the country. 22 young Ukrainians received awards: 3 gold, 9 silver and 10 bronze medals.
«You have defended not only the high level of Ukrainian education, not only the honor of schools, lyceums and gymnasiums you study in. This is truly a defense of Ukraine’s honor,» the President said adding that «Ukraine has proved itself in the world long ago and strongly holds this high level, as a state with extremely high scientific potential».
As to the report, Poroshenko noted that the most reputable world institutions, such as the EU, partners from the United States, IMF, EBRD, EIB confirmed that Ukraine has done more in reforms over the past 2.5 years than over the previous 23 years.
«It is very important for Ukraine to be mentioned in foreign media as a country with a great number of winners of academic competitions,» the President emphasized.
«When you are striving for knowledge, you will certainly win and overcome competition,» the President said.
The President reminded that Ukrainian IT-experts, mathematicians, constructors, engineers, chemists, biologists are highly valued all over the world.
