27.02.2017 16:56 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of last week, while speaking within the conference «From creating Consolidated Communities towards sustainable growth», Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman said thanks to the financial decentralization, the number of chronically Government-subsidized budgets reduced by 25%, and further reduction is observed,
Government Portal reports.
«The number of budgets that used to be chronically subsidized has cut by almost 25%. Due to these changes we achieved the growth of local budgets annually by 50% within 2015 and 2016, and within 2017 we anticipate growth by additional 25%. This means that they have their local resource to invest in the quality of people’s lives,» Groisman said.
As to Groisman, earlier 96% of the Ukrainian local authorities’ budgets had been granted subventions on constant basis, adding they were incapable to provide appropriate services.
The reduction of subsidization of local budgets, in particular, is the result of financial decentralization, the Prime Minister summed up.
