26.12.2016 09:16 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of last week, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman held a meeting with representatives of mobile operators on the introduction of Mobile ID (an alternative electronic identity service), Government Portal reports.
As to the report, the participants of the meeting discussed prospects of launching technologies in Ukraine and necessary legislative decisions. Representatives of mobile operators presented results of a pilot project to introduce Mobile ID authentication service.
«ID service has to provide distant communications, transparency and efficiency whatever it concerns - bank, hospital, education, social assistance, public service - land, building, or something else. A person has to get using his mobile phone a possibility to order and receive any public service without any contact with officials. This is a huge achievement, including fight against bribery,» Ggroisman admitted.
«In fact, I believe that every [service - ed.] should be distant. The practice when a person goes to get some references should become history,» he said.
As to the report, the meeting was attended by heads of leading Ukrainian mobile operators Kyivstar, MTS Ukraine (Vodafone), Lifecell, the management of the State Agency for e-Governance, State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection, National Commission for the State Regulation of Communications and Informatization, representatives of the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
