Prime Minister: Raising Ukrainian minimum wage up to UAH3,200 is just a first step in remuneration system improving

As of yesterday, while speaking within a Cabinet meeting, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman said raising the Ukrainian minimum wage since next year Jan 1 corresponds to the economic capabilities of the country, and it is the first step in improving of the Ukrainian remuneration system, Government Portal reports.
As to the report, Groisman told that the Government was finalizing budget preparation for 2017. As to him, the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance was summing up all proposals and conclusions offered by the Parliament.
Reportedly, the PM admitted that the Government had put into 2017 Budget raising of the Ukrainian minimum wage up to UAH3,200 since next year Jan 1.
Besides, the PM reminded that the Government was boosting the Ukrainian minimum social standards by 10% since this year Dec 1, 2016.
As to the report, Groisman admitted that the Government had also untied the minimum wage from the salaries of officials and any other bindings.
Reportedly, he also stressed that the Government will make proposals stipulating that that minimum wage raising should in no way reduce requirements to declarations of the officials’ assets and finances.
