Tech bank for Least Developed Countries among outcomes of UN conference

The proposed establishment later this year of a technology bank to help 48 of the world poorest countries to boost their scientific and technological capacities is among the results of the UN conference for the LDCs (world Least Developed Countries) which concluded this Sun in Turkey, UN Radio reports.
As to the report, the meeting focused on the progress made by these nations, collectively known as the Least Developed Countries, since the adoption of the IPOA (Istanbul Programme of Action) five years ago.
The IPOA outlines a path for LDCs to achieve sustainable development over the decade ending in 2020.
While speaking following the conference, the UN Under-Secretary-General Gyan Acharya said that the conference had been very successful, noting the high-level participation from all the LDCs and their development partners and international institutions.
