Moldova has published a government resolution on the introduction of measures to protect its market by restricting import of Ukrainian dairy foods, meat and cement by means of quotas and import duties until the end 2016, UNIAN reports referring to the Ukrainian Europeiska Pravda.
As to the report, the document was posted on the Moldovan governments website on May 13, 2016.
Reportedly, protective quotas and duties on dairy products, meat and cement products originating from Ukraine were introduced by Moldova late in Apr 2016.
As to the report, the mentioned groups of goods are to be supplied within their respective quotas, while excess shipments will be subject to import duties.
As to the report, Moldova says it has introduced the import duties in response to requests from local producers. It is reported that within the last year the import of Ukrainian dairy products (sour cream, kefir, yogurt) to Moldova boosted by 1.5 times, and meat products’ import soared up by 14 times. Import of cement grew by 6 times.
