President: We are grateful for international community assistance in overcoming Chornobyl disaster consequences

As of yesterday, within the events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Chornobyl tragedy, the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude to international donors for helping overcome the results of the disaster, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
"We are deeply grateful to the international community, especially the EBRD, Japan as a G7 Presidency, to the United States and other G7 countries, as well as to the European Union, for your valuable and timely help. This is an important act of solidarity with Ukraine, which inspires confidence that jointly we will overcome the consequences of the Chornobyl disaster, the Head of State said adding that «Ukraine commends international assistance projects, power generation support, as well as social and research projects implemented».
In the presence of Petro Poroshenko, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Ostap Semerak, Director of the State Specialized Enterprise Chornobyl NPP Ihor Hramtokin and President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Suma Chakrabarti signed the Third Amendment to the Grant Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and State Specialized Enterprise Chornobyl NPP as Recipient and EBRD. «This is a right investment in a right case making our world a safer place,» Poroshenko noted.
