Ukrainian agricultural companies 2015 net income was record high – US$4.1 milliard

Within 2015, Ukrainian agricultural companies, despite the devaluation of the national currency, received a record net profit - UAH89.5 milliard or US$4.1 milliard, up against US$3 milliard received within 2014, Government Portal says referring to the
Ukrainian Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Oleksiy Pavlenko report.
As to the report, within 2015, UAH profit boosted by 2.5 times (US$ - by 1.4 times).
«The growth of purchasing prices for agricultural products has offset in a certain way the rising cost of input resources and ensured the profitability of agriculture at 45.9%. This is the best indicator for the last 10 years,» the Minister emphasez.
As to him, the most profitable crops were, traditionally, sunflower seeds (80.3%), rape (44%), grain and legumes (43.2%) and soy - 38.4%. The total crop profitability made up 50.9%.
«These results were achieved thanks to the simplification of the business environment, including deregulation and combating corruption,» Pavlenko said.
However, Pavlenko admits along with the highly profitable types of crop production, certain types of livestock production are still unprofitable, the total profitability of which made up 22.6%. Therefore, in order to maintain livestock production, we need additional tools in terms of the abolition of VAT special regime - and so Ministry managers currently stick to this position.
