Ukrainian, Swiss Presidents agree to provide Ukraine with US$200 million in form of additional assistance

25.01.2016 09:17 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of the last week, within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with President of Switzerland Johann Schneider-Ammann, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports. As to the report, Poroshenko thanked the Swiss Government and people for the humanitarian and financial assistance in the amount of about US$350 million. Reportedly, the parties agreed on the provision of US$200 million in the form of additional assistance for the replenishment of foreign reserves. The President of Switzerland expressed admiration for the way Ukraine fights for its independence. As to the report, the interlocutors also discussed the course of reforms in Ukraine as well. Reportedly, the parties negotiated ways to intensify Ukrainian-Swiss trade, economic and investment cooperation. With this in view, they agreed to hold the meeting of the Ukrainian-Swiss joint committee on trade-economic cooperation, preparation to the signature of respective bilateral documents and presentation of potential investment projects. As to the report, the Ukrainian President invited his Swiss colleague to make an official visit to Ukraine.
