Freight train from Ukraine to Central Asia via Georgia, Azerbaijan to depart on Fri

13.01.2016 18:56 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — While speaking at a government meeting on Wed, the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said a freight train from Ukraine heading for Central Asian countries via Georgia and Azerbaijan is to depart on Fri, thus allowing transportation of Ukrainian goods to bypass the Russian territory, UNIAN reports. «The train is to depart on Fri. Our task is to make use of this train as much as possible,» Yatseniuk told. As to the report, the PM also informed that Ukrainian Infrastructure Ministry representatives were visiting Baku (Azerbaijan) at that moment to finalize an alternative route for Ukrainian goods and develop the so-called through fare for freight transportation. «This route will enable our economy to find an alternative way of delivering goods onto markets where Ukraine has been traditionally present but where it is very difficult to deliver commodities now due to Russia’s embargo,» the PM said. As to the Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Andriy Pyvovarskiy, the train will leave from the city of Ilichivsk in Odesa region.
