European Commission Progress Report: Ukraine meets criteria for visa liberalization

21.12.2015 10:14 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of Dec 18, the European Commission adopted the sixth and last progress report on the implementation by Ukraine of its Visa Liberalisation Action Plan (VLAP), Government Portal reports. As to the report, the progress report highlights the significant headway made by Ukraine to meet the criteria for visa liberalization. Reportedly, while speaking within a Government session on Dec 18, the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk welcomed the decision of the European Commission and called it a result of the joint work. «When we work together, we always succeed. It is the result of the work of the President of Ukraine, who was in Brussels. It is the result of the work of the Government, and it is the result of the work of the Ukrainian Parliament that despite all the difficulties supported the government’s initiative and voted in favour of the necessary laws,» Yatseniuk stressed. «This is a significant step on the way towards our European integration, when Ukrainian citizens get a chance to travel across the territory of our Europe without visas, as Ukraine is a part of the European family,» Yatseniuk said.
