Finance Ministry: Ukraine could return to foreign capital market in late 2016 or early 2017
02.12.2015 11:36 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
"If we have economic grounds for this and demand on support of economic growth, the entering of the markets in this situation would be justifiable. It is likely that we will discuss this with our colleagues from the International Monetary Fund in late 2016 or early 2017," NRCU says quoting the Ukrainian Deputy Finance Minister Artem Shevalev as speaking within the panel discussion in Kyiv on Mon.
As to Shevalev, the Ukrainian Government has successfully restructured the debt, and if the situation is favorable Ukraine could return to the foreign capital markets earlier than it is traditionally considered after restructuring.
Besides, he also said the Ukrainian Finance Ministry was not convinced in the economic efficiency of Diaspora bonds.
«As for bonds for the Diaspora, we should clearly understand the purpose. I’m not sure that this will have an economic effect,» he said.
