Ukrainian President paid tribute to Heroes-liquidators of Chornobyl tragedy

As of Apr 26, on the day of the 29th anniversary of Chornobyl tragedy, the Ukrainian President petro Poroshenko visited the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, the Head of State honored the memory of Chornobyl Heroes laying flowers to the monument near the administrative building of the station.
«29 years ago, Ukrainian firemen defended humanity,» the President said.
As to the report, the President emphasized that Ukraine would always remember the feat of those who had saved the lives of people.
«Today, we continue to bear the main burden of Chornobyl tragedy. Its tragic consequences will not leave us for many years,» the Head of State said.
Reportedly, the President thanked the team involved in building of the safe confinement. «Ukrainians, Frenchmen, Englishmen, Azerbaijanis and Turks demonstrate their abilities to work here. But the majority of them are Ukrainians who make everything possible to ensure timely protection of environment from nuclear threats. The quality and organization of work assure us that everything will be done well,» Poroshenko said.
Besides, the President examined the object «Shelter» and the Zone of installing of the new safe confinement over the 4th emergency unit.
As to the report, the CEO of the State Specialized Enterprise «CNPP» Ihor Gramotkin informed the President on the main phases of building of the confinement (carried out by the French consortium Novarka for the funds provided by 28 States-donors under the administration of the EBRD).
