Ukrainian Prime Minister: We have to feed our country with cheap and quality products labeled "Made in Ukraine"

The task of the Ukrainian Government in the agrarian and industrial complex is to ensure food security of our country and significantly raise its agricultural exports, Government Portal says quoting the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk as speaking on Thurs, Mar 12, while making a public report of the Cabinet’s activity one hundred days.
Yatseniuk reminded that by the 2014 end the agricultural sector had demonstrated a 16% growth: «It was the only sector which enabled the Ukrainian economy to increase and allowed the Ukrainian economy to get dollars to stabilize the foreign exchange market.»
Besides, the Prime Minister mentioned a range of tasks in the agrarian and industrial complex for the current year, with the first being the country food security: «We must sow and gather the crop, feed the country with cheap and quality products with a label „Made in Ukraine.»
Also, he reminded that the sowing campaign had already begun and asked the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food together with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to do everything in order to provide farmers with fuel, fertilizer and equipment, „In order to sow the crop and feed the country."
As to the PM, the second task concerns the export potential of the Ukrainian agrarian and industrial complex.
„We must significantly expand our export position and make export sales," he emphasized.
Besides, Yatseniuk also reminded that Ukraine had already used almost all the quotas of agricultural products’ supply to the European Union, what means that „Ukrainian products are bought in Europe."
„The agricultural sector is one of the main economic engines of our country. Some countries have oil, others gas, while we possess „rich" soil, hard-working people and high quality food industry, which should meet the standards of the European Union," Yatseniuk emphasized.
