Prasolov: European integration is invariable priority of foreign economic policy of Ukraine

04.11.2013 09:58 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Ukraine views the Association Agreement with the European Union, first of all as a comprehensive program of large-scale internal reforms in all areas of political, economic and social life of the country, as modernization of the state and also an effective instrument of their implementation in compliance with the European standards, stressed Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Ihor Prasolov in the course of the 12-th sitting of Ukrainian-Austrian mixed commission on trade and economics, Government Portal reports. «For Ukraine, the Eurointegration vector of the development is an unchangeable priority of foreign economic policy and internal development. At this Eurointegration strategy of the country, first of all, is directed to carrying out system transformation and modernization of the national economics, social and economic reforms,» Ihor Prasolov emphasized. «European choice of Ukraine is primarily the choice of main principles of building of our society in the spirit of democracy, the focus to the development of our country as a free, economically developed, equal country of Europe». He stressed the Association Agreement establishes a new philosophy of relations between Ukraine and the EU — transition from principles of partnership and cooperation to a qualitatively new level — to the political association and economic integration. The Minister informed nowadays in Ukraine the work was on in the direction of creating of a national mechanism of implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, large scale measures were taken concerning preparation of the domestic market to the conditions of activity in the frames of FTA with the EU. Besides, already now the Ukrainian party has been preparing a program of implementation of the Association Agreement. «As to experts’ estimations, realization of provisions of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU will facilitate economic growth, revival of bilateral and foreign trade in whole, creating of new workplaces in export-focused economic sectors, adaptation of the national system of technical regulation, sanitary and phyto-sanitary measures to comply with the European and international requirements etc,» Ihor Prasolov emphasized. However, he also admitted the Government was quite well aware of that huge amount of work which still is to be done, and so hoped to receive support from the European Union — both in the frameworks of the technical assistance programs as well as of financial programs to support of the development of certain branches of economics.
