President: Ukraine will continue walking towards European integration

It was stated by the President in his interview to journalists after trilateral negotiations with President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski and President of Slovakia Ivan Gasparovic in Wisla (Poland), President Viktor Yanukovych Press Office reports. «Despite the difficulties, Ukraine will continue walking the way of European integration,» the President noted. The Head of State confirmed the readiness of Ukraine to continue the implementation of reforms and plan of actions offered by the European Commission until November 2013. «We consider that first of all it will be beneficial for Ukraine. These reforms make us closer to legal, democratic, economic and technical standards,» Viktor Yanukovych said. The President noted that differences between Ukraine and the EU were «completely natural because our state endures difficult way of European integration». He expressed gratitude to the countries supporting Ukrainian integration. «Our friends understand our situation and they help us. It is important for us to achieve the final goal — signing the Association Agreement with the EU,» the President noted In his turn, President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski noted the importance of trilateral negotiations. «We have met in the circle of good neighbors and friends. We have met on the eve of the summit that is to be held in Brussels in a few days — the Summit of the European Union and Ukraine. And this summit is very important because it starts a series of events and activities that will lead to further significant event,» he said. The President of Poland positively evaluated the negotiations. He stressed that Poland was ready to assist Ukraine in the European integration. «We have met at a time when the fate of huge efforts made by Ukraine related to the negotiations and the initialing of the Association Agreement is to be decided. It is also the effect of personal involvement of Mr. President Yanukovych. We want to help Ukraine get this final and desired result — the signing and ratification of the Association Agreement during the summit in November in Vilnius,» Bronislaw Komorowski noted. President of Slovakia Ivan Gasparovic stressed the importance of signing the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. «The signing of this agreement is also very important for us. Otherwise, the stage of stagnation and freezing will begin. That’s why we have promised to help Ukraine in case it fully meets the conditions set by the European Union,» he emphasized.
