President: Ukraine must increase its competitiveness

Ukraine must increase its competitiveness in the world. It was stated by the President at the last week meeting with candidates for the posts of heads of DSA, President Viktor Yanukovych Press Office reports.
«Global challenge continues and only strong will win. To be strong means to be competitive,» the Head of State stressed. «The winner is the one who has competitive price and qualitative goods and services,» Viktor Yanukovych said.
The President cited as an example the implementation of complex infrastructure projects in Turkmenistan by Ukrainian companies. One of such projects is the construction of the bridge over Amu Darya River. «Our specialists traveled thousands of miles and showed high class. It means we can be competitive,» the President noted.
The Head of State also emphasized the necessity of increasing the volume of production with high added value. «The more products with high added value we have, the better financial result will be. We must always remember it,» he stressed.
The President particularly drew attention to the importance of economization of state foreign policy. «We must learn to win in tough competition and to protect our national interests,» Viktor Yanukovych noted.
Besides, according to the Head of State, the urgent task was to reduce the volume of import. «We must reduce import and increase export to support national producer,» the President said.
Viktor Yanukovych also emphasized the importance of improving conditions for business and investors. «If we create such conditions, investors will feel protected,» he noted.
