Harvesting 2018: agrarians threshed 54.5 million tons grains

23.10.2018 19:11 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of this year Oct 23, Ukrainian agrarians have got 54.5 million tons grains/leguminous crops at 13 million ha (88% total planned areas), average yield — 41.9 metric centners per ha, Interfax-Ukraine says referring to the the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food report. Thus, in part., agrarians have got 34.3 million tons early grains/leguminous crops at 9.9 million ha, average yield — 34.3 metric centners per ha; maize — 19.5 million tons at 2.8 million ha (62%), average yield — 68.2 metric centners per ha; buckwheat — 131,000 tons at 104,000 ha (96%), average yield — 12.6 metric centners per ha; millet — 74,000 tons at 48,000 ha (92%), average yield — 15.5 metric centners per ha. Also, as of this year Oct 23, agrarians have threshed 12.8 million tons sunseeds at 5.7 million ha (72%), average yield — 22.3 metric centners per ha; 3.9 million tons soybeans at 1.5 million ha, average yield — 25.4 ha; 2.7 million tons rapeseeds at 1 million ha, average yield — 26.1 metric centners per ha; 8.9 million tons sugar beets at 184,000 ha (66%), average yield — 484 metric centners per ha. In meanwhile, presently agrarians continue winter plants’ sowing (2019 crop). Thus, Ukrainian agrarians have sown winter grains (2019 crop) at 6.8 million ha (total planned — 7.2 million ha), incl. winter wheat — at 5.9 million ha (6.2 million ha); winter rye — 114,000 ha (147,000 ha); winter barley — 819,000 ha (872,000 ha). It is to be admitted, agrarians have also sown the winter rapeseeds at 1 million ha (up against total planned 888,000 ha).
