Taxation Administration agreed with banks upon VAT monitoring off-balance accounts opening

State Taxation Administration has agreed with National Bank of Ukraine/country biggest banks upon Value Added Tax (VAT) amounts flows tracking off-balance accounts opening, reported Ukrainian News referring to Oleksandr Kireyev, State Taxation Administration Chief declaration on Aug 18 regional Taxation Administration managers conference.
«Today we’ve agreed with National Bank as well as with a number of Ukrainian leading banks upon banks off-balance accounts opening with this part of payment documents (incl. VAT) to be shown in each taxpayer separate off-balance account; thus, we’ll get transparent/direct information from banks on VAT amounts receiving/sending making it possible for us to know where VAT amounts may be lost,» stated Kireyev.
Kireyev said Taxation Administration will be able to quickly track down cases of VAT being redirected to VAT non-payers.
«We will be able to see in which cases VAT is redirected to VAT non-payers, — yet not within 4 months, after auditing starting, but literally within a month. I think these measurements are quite enough to solve problem,» said Taxation Administration Chief.
Kireyev has reminded VAT separate accounts establishing question had been already discussed in Ukraine in 2003.
It is to be reminded, this May Kireyev declared about exporters VAT reimbursement system having been simplified (with simplified system to include only exporters not dealing with offshore zones/not evading taxes paying). Kireyev stated in order to receive VAT budgetary compensation companies should prove their having paid VAT.
