It has again been proposed to postpone the transition of Ukrainian refineries to the production of petrol of higher quality, Kommersant-Ukraine has reported.
«The expert and analytical group on the functioning of the oil market and the development of the oil refining industry at the Cabinet of Ministers has spoken against the transition to new quality standards for fuel production Euro 4 and Euro 5. On Friday, the group reported that it is initiating the extension of Euro 2 and Euro 3 standards until 2018,» reads the article. According to Kommersant-Ukraine, the secretariat of the group said that the State Reserve Agency had applied to it to postpone the transition to new standards until 2018. «The State Reserve Agency explained that the storage life of fuel already purchased for the needs of the Defense Ministry and the enterprises of the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry will expire in six years,» the groups secretariat said. According to the group, the extension of standards will soon be considered by the government. Ukraine has repeatedly postponed a full transition to Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards. In particular, the effect of the old standards that meet the requirements of Euro 2 and Euro 5 was extended for a year in early July 2011.
