Customs, Tax services of Ukraine conclude information cooperation agreement

The State Customs Service and the State Tax Service of Ukraine concluded an Agreement on information cooperation. Heads of agencies, Ihor Kaletnik and Oleksandr Klymenko have said about this, the press service of the State Customs Service informs.
«The signature of the Agreement is another step toward automation of work of the customs and tax services, raising efficiency of their activities, increase of allocations to the state budget and creation of the favorable business environment,» they stressed. The agreement provides for creation of a single information space, ensuring of information exchange between the agencies in the on-line regime, filling of information resources with data, necessary to control accuracy of tax charges, complete and timely payment of taxes, the press service statement reads. «The Customs Service possesses a unique mass of information, which is formed in the process of carrying out control over foreign economic activities. Therefore, exchange of information is mutually beneficial for raising efficiency of our agencies’ work,» Chairman of the State Customs Service Ihor Kaletnik said. According to him, enhancement of information cooperation between the agencies will allow to ensure control over accuracy of tax charges, complete and timely payment of taxes and duties, as well as improvement of their administration by the State Tax Service and the Customs Service of Ukraine. «The signature of the Agreement is also a serious step toward legalization of enterprises’ shadow turnover and its taxation. Growth of information exchange efficiency between the agencies will allow to more effectively and prompter monitor task risks and to control tax obligations in carrying out import-export operations,» State Tax Service Chairman Oleksandr Klymenko noted. He is convinced that realization of the information cooperation Agreement between the State Customs Service and the State Tax Service of Ukraine will help reveal and investigate into crimes related to money laundering, legalization, embezzlement, and other illegal financial operations, detect and terminate illicit trafficking and violation of customs rules.
