In 2009 agricultural cooperatives received UAH35 mn State support
21.12.2009 11:31 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Agricultural cooperatives have received so far only UAH35 mn from UAH90 mn State support initially planned for 2009, reported Agrarian Policy Deputy Minister Yaroslav Gadzalo. As to Gadzalo, other agrarian sector support programs also remain underfinanced resulting in Ukrainian producers global/domestic markets positions weakening. Deputy Minister admitted EU countries situation now is different as local meat producers receive US$550-1,500 per MT export subsidies. “Our country agricultural products cost price is up against EU countries as we don’t give this subsidies amount to our agriculture up to different programs, − for instance, our stockbreeding doesn’t receive those donations and State subsidies which are received by EU countries producers. EU countries subsidies are extremely high, resulting in EU agricultural products prices and cost being competitive on global market,” recapitulated Deputy Minister.
