Bakers consider it necessary to limit grain export

Ukrainian bakers believe it is necessary to restrict country grain (in part. food wheat) export, reported Ministry of Agrarian Policy press-service referring to recently held Association Ukrkhlibprom meeting. «Being interested in domestic market sufficient supplies of high-quality grain and flour at acceptable prices, bakers are convinced grain export, — especially food wheat export, — should be limited,» runs report. As to report, bakers think measures recently introduced by Cabinet have much prompted bread retail prices stabilizing. As to bakers, no retail prices sharp regional differences have been registered, what creates equal conditions for all consumers. Report says presently bakers are busy regulating sale prices mark-ups (which shouldn’t be over 10%). Bakers believe it is necessary to establish energy sources market stability as well as to reduce flour purchase prices by 5% (due to flour and energy sources expenses are sharing correspondingly 50% and 5–6% of total bread production). «Bakers anticipate Ministries and local Regional State Administrations will adopt corresponding measures, in part. measures targeted at effective control and influence of retail network sale prices mark-ups,» says report. As to Agro Perspective earlier report, Oct 11 Cabinet established grain export quotes until end this year and simultaneously refused upon grain export licensing.
