Kharkiv region expects rape cultivation/processing big investments

German/Ukrainian investors are going to put EUR70 mn into Shevchenkovo district (Kharkiv region) rape growing/processing, reported Kharkiv Regional State Administration press-service. As to report, Arsen Avakov, Kharkiv Regional State Administration Chairman, has discussed Shevchenkovo district this year 10 months socioeconomic development results with Myckola Goroshko, Shevchenkovo district Chief. As to press-service, Goroshko made it known investors became more active and ready to put finances into Shevchenkovo district economy. As to Goroshko, preliminary work on Ukrainian/German joint venture (to be busy with rape cultivation/processing in Shevchenkovo district) creation is now in full swing. Goroshko said rape (diesel fuel resource) will be processed on new plant planned to be built since new year; within plant building period, rape processing equipment will be supplied to be installed end 2007-early 2008. As to press-service, Regional State Administration plans to start growing rape as well in Lozivske, Kolomatske and Krasnokutsk districts. As to Avakov, regional rape growing is motivated not only by necessity to change traditional fuel with cheaper biodiesel; he said those agricultural companies which would like to start rape growing/processing are certain to obtain financial stability due to world market continuously high rape oil demand.
