Canal Sugar (owned by the Dubai-based Al Khaleej Sugar Plant) is going to complete a beet sugar plant (within the western Magny, Egypt) construction within Oct 2020; the sugar plant is expected to be the world biggest, Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers says referring to the Reuters report.
It is to be admitted, as of now, the Al Khaleej Sugar Plant (located within UAE) is the world biggest sea port sugar plant.
As to the report, the new sugar plant within Egypt is expected to reach its half annual capacity output as soon as 2021 (full capacity 2022). The sugar plant full annual capacity will total 900,000 tons.
It is to be admitted, Egypt almost entirely depends on the Nile water; so the Egyptian authorities try to widen the country sugar beets’ sown areas as sugar beets’ water consumption is down against the cane sugar. As of now, Egypt has already widened its sugar beets’ sown areas from 203,700 ha to 252,000 ha.
