FAO: Ukrainian honey output highest within Europe

Ukraine ranks third among world exporters of honey with a share of 10%, and is the first within Europe as for the honey output, Ukrinform says referring to the FAO (UN Food and Agriculture Organization) report.
«Every year Ukraine sets a new record for the export of this sweet product, having already boosted its export by 20.5 times within the last 10 years! As of 2017, export reached 67,800 tons for US$133.9 million. Ukrainian honey output makes up 45% of the global, and it is the third as for the honey export. Ukraine also ranks first within Europe as for the honey output,» Anna Burka, a national advisor at the FÀÎ, admits.
«Ukrainian honey was purchased by 19 European Union countries within 2013, while within 2017 by 24. The largest importers last year were Germany with a share of 34%, Poland (22%), France (11%), Belgium (8%) and Spain (7%),» Burka stressed.
