Ukraine celebrating 26th anniversary of independence

24.08.2017 11:31 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of today, Aug 24, Ukraine is celebrating the 26th anniversary of its independence, UNIAN reports. As to the report, the country high-ranking officials have already congratulated the citizens on the Independence Day. Thus, in part., Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman posted his greetings and released a video message on his Facebook at around 6:0 AM. As to the report, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko also conveyed sincere congratulations and wishes to Ukrainians on his Facebook page an hour later. Many world leaders and prominent figures have sent their greetings to Poroshenko on the occasion of the event. As to the report, today prayers for peace within the country and for the Ukrainian people would be performed within all the churches and monasteries of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Onuphriy. Reportedly, the corresponding circular letters had been sent to all diocesan bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
