Ukrainian exporters won't be able to take advantage of EU egg market crisis as they don't make any shipments
08.08.2017 22:41 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Ukrainian companies will not be able to take advantage of the crisis in the EU egg market in connection with the detection of infecting these products with fipronil in some countries, Interfax says referring to Head of the Ukrainian State Service for Food Safety and Consumers Rights Protection Volodymyr Lapa report.
«Theoretically Ukrainian companies have the right to export eggs to the EU from 2015. However, in practice, none of them have taken advantage of this opportunity,» Lapa admits.
As to him, to start shipments to the EU Ukrainian companies must file an appropriate application to the service for inspection, after which the European Commission includes it in the list of exporters.
«Now we export only egg products,» he says.
Besides, the expert says that, as to information from the RASFF system, eggs infected with fipronil were not supplied to Ukraine.
