Poroshenko invites Georgian investors and entrepreneurs to Ukraine: Ukraine is a reliable trade partner

As of today, while on an official visit to Georgia, and speaking within a joint Ukraine-Georgia business forum, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said Ukraine is interested in developing trade relations with Georgia and the trade turnover between the two countries, which now equals US$526 million dollars, can be raised up to US$1 milliard, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, the President emphasized that the people of Georgia is extremely close to Ukrainians. «I am glad that we see a lot of Georgian entrepreneurs and tourists on the streets of Kyiv. Today, we have a lot of Ukrainian entrepreneurs and tourists on the streets of Tbilisi. It means that the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Georgia finds its practical implementation,» Poroshenko said.
He added that the Georgian governmental delegation headed by the Prime Minister of Georgia would visit Ukraine in autumn.
«US$526 million within 2016. We think it does not reflect the potential Ukraine and Georgia have. We have set a goal to raise our trade turnover up to US$1 milliard within a few years,» Poroshenko said. As to him, the first quarter of 2017 has already demonstrated growth by 16.5%. «The figures are encouraging,» he said.
As to the report, Poroshenko urged to create new forms of ties on the basis of the international specialization and cooperation of production, including on the basis of joint production.
«I want to invite you to Ukraine. I am here to convince you that the reforms of the Ukrainian government, President, Government, Parliament are irreversible,» the President noted.
He told about the changes in Ukraine, particularly the implementation of the decentralization and deregulation program, reform of public procurement.
As to the report, in his turn, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili confirmed willingness of Georgia to enhance relations.
He emphasized that Ukraine is an important trade partner for Georgia that enters the top-5 states in terms of trade turnover for Georgia. Giorgi Kvirikashvili urged the attendees to take advantage of the today visit, which demonstrated strategic partnership, and invited the Ukrainian entrepreneurs to invest into Georgia as well.
