Ukrainian 2016 buckwheat output up almost 40%

As of today, while speaking within a Cabinet meeting, Ukrainian State Statistics Service Chairman Igor Verner has said within 2016 Ukrainian agriculture showed a 6.1% growth, mainly within the crops’ output sphere, Ukrinform reports.
«There is sustainable positive dynamics within the agriculture. After a 4.8% decline within 2015, agricultural products’ output boosted to 6.1% within 2016,» Verner admitted.
As to Verner, a growth in agricultural products’ output was caused, in part., by the record-breaking yields of wheat, sunflower and sugar beets.
«In contrast to 2015, buckwheat output lifted by 37.7%,» Verner noted.
However, Verner admitted within 2016 Ukrainian animal products’ output sagged by 2.6%. Animal population within regions reduced by 15%.
