President about results of meetings in Brussels and Maastricht: We enjoy firm EU support

21.10.2016 10:14 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of yesterday, while speaking in Brussels, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said he was reaffirmed of the unwavering support of Ukraine by the EU within his intensive meetings with the EU leaders, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports. As to the report, Ukrainian President noted that at the meeting with President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz he had discussed the necessity of speeding up the adoption of the European Parliament decision on the visa-free regime and trade preferences. «Ukraine enjoys firm support of the majority of European MPs. For today, immediately after solving the issue of mechanism for suspension of the visa-free regime, this decision will be immediately adopted. We are sure about it,» Poroshenko admitted. As to the President, he had been convinced of that, inter alia, during his meetings within the summit of the European People’s Party. President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Council Donald Tusk and several leaders of the European member-states have supported the necessity of speeding up the provision of the visa-free regime, ratification of the Association Agreement and provision of trade preferences, Ukrainian President said.
